Résumé :

Accurate knowledge of the continuum absorptions of atmospheric
gases is important in the Earth’s temperature balance calculations,
remote sensing, and some other atmospheric applications. The
continuum is a significant contributor to the total absorption in the
atmosphere, but it still remains the subject of much controversy.
Recent debate centers on the relative roles of the contributions of
collision-induced absorption, far line wings absorption, and dimer
absorption to the continuum spectrum. The formation of continuum
absorption and its nature will be considered.
