Curriculum Vitae

Nicolas Fatin-Rouge studied physical-chemistry at the University of Strasbourg and obtained his PhD thesis in 1998 in the field of self-assembly of metallic helicates. He pursed his formation as a post-doctoral fellow and then as maître-assistant in the group of Pr J. C. Bünzli (EPFL, 1998-2001), where he worked on aqueous compexes of f-elements as luminescent material and contrast agents for MRI. Then he moved in the group of Pr J. Buffle (University of Geneva, 2001-2003) where he studied the diffusion of solutes and solids in hydrogels, before appointment to lecturer in 2003 at the University of Franche-Comté. His research interests concern the developpment of technologies to decontaminate water and soils.]


Research activities

- Combination of ultra- and micro-filtration with specific reactions to decontaminate water from metals and organics.
- Removal of small polar solutes by desalting membranes.
- Reuse of wastewater.
- Soil decontamination from organics and metals by washing with the reuse of extracting solutions.
